The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

David Anthony JONES (Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK) & Timo SECKLER (Ellenberg, Germany)

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV has been our assistant, guest and especially friend since 2003, and he has been living in Gansbaai and assisting the White Shark Trust during most of 2004 and now again in 2005.

Michael Scholl was visiting his family in Switzerland and giving educational and fund-raising presentations in Switzerland, England, Germany and The Netherlands from the 21st of September through the 27th of October 2005. During that time, our assistants continued the field research data and photo identification collection on board Shark Fever of Marine Dynamics.

On thursday the 27th of October, Michael returned from his trip to Switzerland and Europe visiting his family and giving presentations in Switzerland, England, Germany and The Netherlands. We were invited by our neighbours, Lance and Jean, for a braai in the evening...
From the 21st of September through the 31st of October 2005, during Michael's absence, our three assistants, Dave, Timo and Andy, were invited on board Shark Fever of Marine Dynamics to continue collecting research field information and photo identification. We are very thankful to Wilfred Chivell, Marine Dynamics, Dyer Island Cruises and their staff for their support and assistance!
On Saturday the 29th of October, we decided to go to Hermanus in the evening, and we had a nice meal at Spur, and then went to the Gecko Bar and the Zebra Crossing... Hermanus was surprisingly calm, so we enjoyed our relaxed evening...

On Sunday the 30th of October, we invited Lance and Jean, Yvonne and Clova (one of our assistants in November who is spending some time in Gansbaai), and some of their friends over for a braai at our house... Probably Dave's last braai party before he returns to Wales... Very, very, very sad times ahead of us! But that evening, we had fun and it was a perfect evening, warm and windless...
