The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship was founded on the 1st of December 2001 and has been a very successful program for over four years. Unfortunately, mainly due to lack of major funding, we had to end the program on the 31st of December 2005.

The research and field work achievement over these four years have been amazing and extremely successful, and our research boat Lamnidae has been fantastic. The White Shark population data accumulated since 1997 around Dyer Island using the photographic identification technique developped by Michael Scholl represents the largest and most detailed population database on White Sharks in the world.

The White Shark Trust and especially Michael Scholl would like to express their sincerest and most grateful thanks to our one hundred Field Research Assistants who have made our achievements possible. Thank you very much!
