The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Timo SECKLER (Ellenberg, Germany) has been our assistant since the 15th of July 2005. He assisted with the manual telemetry tracking of White Sharks in Mossel Bay during the month of August.

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV has been our assistant, guest and especially friend since September 2003, and he has been living in Gansbaai and assisting the White Shark Trust during most of 2004 and now again in 2005.

On the 21st of December 2005, we welcomed back Clova Jurk from Perth in Scotland, one of our Field Research Assistants during November. Clova is flying back home to Scotland on the 22nd, and she wanted to spend her last day with the Sharks!

Following a series of cold fronts, very unusual for the summer period, and some unfriendly ocean conditions, Wednesday welcomed us with a wonderful day! Great conditions!

Lance, manager of the Carcharias Boutique in Kleinbaai, joined us on his day off to enjoy the White Sharks that he promotes in his souvenir and clothing boutique...

The Sharks were good, and we probably observed around six different White Sharks today... Lance was handling the baitline, and he did an amazing job! And he had a lot of fun with the Sharks (so did we all)! It was so nice to be out there with the Sharks on such a wonderful day!
And of course, Andy's guitar joined the party! Serenading the Sharks as they were swimming around the boat, and on quite moments, trying the old Shark Whisperer trick, singing the Great White Shark song (playing now) to attract them to the boat... Please visit Andy's web site (www.ABC4Explore.com) where you can listen to his songs and order CDs...

We also did a photo shoot today for Deep Sea World in Fife, Scotland. Clova used to work for this Aquarium, and they sent us some t-shirts to get some pictures of Clova with White Sharks...
On Wednesday afternoon, following our Shark excursion, we drove to Cape Town to meet up with my friend Tom Peschak and Yvonne Kemp. We went out in Cape Town, and ate at a great Mexican restaurant... and drank my favorite beer, Corona! Impossible to find out in Gansbaai!
On Thursday, Michael, Andy and Tom met up with Clova for a last lunch, before she would fly back to Scotland... We went to the Codfather in Campsbay for some amazing Sushi! Things we miss out on living in Gansbaai...
