The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Anna BATTESE (St-Fadden, Australia), Brandon MITCHELL (Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA), Mike PERSSON (Red Deer County, AB, Canada) and Bryce ROHRER (Greenwich, CT, USA).

Andy Brandy CASAGRANDE IV is living in Fishoek on the shores of False Bay where he is assisting Alison KOCK (South African Museum / Save Our Seas) with her research project at Seal Island for the next few months.

Chris MILNES (Grantham, Lincolnshire, England), one of our old assistants from 2003 and 2004, has also come back to visit and is also volunteering for the White Shark Trust as a friend and guest.

Justin HUBBEL (Anaheim, California, USA) has been our assistant during the months of April and May 2005. On the 17th of June, he returned to Gansbaai for a few days from a three week trip around southern Africa, from Namibia to Mozambique, via Botswana and Zimbabwe...

Wednesday the 22nd of June... Beautiful weather... but a strong South Easterly wind was blowing... from winter to summer conditions within a few days... We observed ten different White Sharks today. Justin's last day on Lamnidae before returning to the USA on Saturday... We certainly are lucky with a break in the bad winter weather we had during the past two months.
Thursday the 23rd of June... Finally a wonderful and perfect day at sea! Unfortunately, the Sharks were missing... We observed only one White Shark today... but this Shark was really relaxed and beautiful! It seems like this winter laps into summer conditions, chased the Sharks away... We spotted a successful White Shark predation on a juvenile Seal.
