The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:

Sophie Fleur POST (Groningen, The Netherlands), Jessica REDINGER (Hope Valley, RI, USA), Oliver RUDD (Oxford, England) and Gael LAMIELLE (Decines, France).

On Thursday the 22nd of July 2004, a big winter storm hit the Western Cape, and our assistants decided to go on a Road Trip along the Garden Route for the next four days... Mossel Bay... Botlierskop Game Park... Knysna...Stormsrivier... Addo Elephant National Park... Monkey World... Here are some pictures taken by Jessica and Sophie of their adventures...
Sophie, Jessica, Oliver and Gael returned to Gansbaai late on Sunday evening... exhausted but with a lot of great souvenirs!

On Monday the 26th of July, the SAMSA surveyors finally came to Gansbaai to survey Lamnidae! Our assistants went to sea on board Barracuda in quite rought seas from the passing storm...

On Tuesday the 27th of July, we all went to sea on board Barracuda, the cage-diving vessel of Shark Diving Unlimited. We observed four different White Sharks today... Jessica and Gael dived into the Shark cage since this was going to be their last opportunity to dive on board Barracuda... Lamnidae is ready to launch again!
