Chris FIORESCU has been assisting us since October 2002 as a guest. The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:
Lydia HO from Toronto (Canada), Costa KONNARIS from Cyprus, and Jennie SANDBERG from Galveston (USA).
On Monday the 24th of February, we observed two sharks for well over a hour! Chris joined us on Lamnidae again... It was great having sharks again as during the past three months, the sharks have been rather rare and cautious...

One shark even had a go at a Cormorant, but the bird just managed to fly off!

On Tuesday the 25th of February, we observed six sharks in less than three hours! We feel like the Australians had something to do with our bad luck the last month... Sorry!

One Cape Fur Seal stayed with us around the boat for the entire time, and he seemed to enjoy himself thoroughly swimming with the sharks and biting their tails...

This seal must have been mad! There is no other word for his behaviour... he was not shy to come right close to the boat and smile for the camera either. We had two sharks around the boat for a while, and the seal would calmly swim around the bait and the sharks...

Look at the photographs below and you will see a shark and the seal together in the frame...
