The White Shark Trust Field Research Assistantship is proud to introduce you to our assistants:
Michael UNWIN from Watford (United Kingdom), Jessica da Silva from Toronto (Canada) and Andrew BLAKE from Newport (Wales, UK).
Our good friend Stephan and his two best friends went out on Stan with the Shark Diving Unlimited team, Morne, Frank and Ivan...

On Lamnidae, we observed 10 different White Sharks on this fantastic day... The ocean was flat with no wind, but there were two meter high long swell rolling through...

One of the sharks we observed had two tags, one satellite PAT (the grey tag) and one ultrasonic transmitter (the red "vienna"), which we deployed last week (left and below)... We were very happy to resight one of the ten sharks we tagged with satellite tags again!
Jessica, Michael and Andrew went on a roadtrip along the Garden Route up to the Addo National Park during four days...

Saturday the 26th of April was a wonderful day with flat seas, and we observed 11 White Sharks. Andrew observed the sharks from the cage, as we were invited to join the Shark Diving unlimited team on Stan for the day.

On Sunday the 27th of April 2003, we observed 10 different White Sharks... Michael was on baitline duty, Jessica was our data recorder and Andrew our shark watcher...

The wind picked up during the day, but it was still a very nice day, and the sharks behaved much better than yesterday (less shy)...
