In September 2002, the White Shark Trust welcomed four Field Research Assistants: Laura Jane POOLE from Aberdeen (Scotland), Helen Sarah FINDLEY from Southampton (England), Alasdair HARRIS from Edinburgh (Scotland) and Camille MELLIN from Thiverval Grignon (France).
Thursday the 5th of September... Another grey day... but somehow Laura seems to have found some inner peace: cup of coffee, Chocolate cookie and cigarette...

Al felt strangely well today for the first time... strangely? The hangover seems to have cured his sea sickness!

We observed nine sharks today!

On Friday the 6th of September, the weather has finally changed... a wonderful and sunny day even though the wind was gusting at sea...

We observed six sharks, but unfortunately, like yesterday, none of them satyed around very long or played with us either...

Al - "The Man" of the day! Also called the "Watcher", but from the picture, he definitely is the MAN!!! His job was to spot the shark as they come up the chum slick... and help the shark handlers below with directions...

Helen was the recorder, Camille the Master Baitor and Laura... well... she was supposed to handle the seal decoy and take identification photographs, but from the picture below, one can only wonder...

I also have to apologize for the low quality of the images taken today, but the camera had a hard time focusing correctly with the glare on the water...

In the evening, we celebrated Tracey's 25th Birthday!

A nice evening spent around the fire and a chocolate cake! And of course the eternal "Blues" song!
