At the end of September 2002, the White Shark Trust welcomed four new Field Research Assistants: Manuel GORDILLO from Madrid (Spain), Victoria MILLS from North Devon (England), Hyun KOUNNE from Cambridge (USA), and Polly CROUCH from Aberdeen (Scotland)
On Friday the 11th of October, we were invited on Stan, Shark Diving Unlimited's boat, with Franky Rutzen and Morne Hardenberg...

The first shark we observed was... well, no better description than CRAZY! She was nearly 350cm long and coming full speed for the bait all the time...

Manuel (above and below as "Austin Powers") and Polly (below) went into the cage... and both admired this Great White Shark from her own natural environment...

They were lucky to see the shark underwater as the season is not the best for the visibility...

We are very thankful to Shark Diving Unlimited and their crew for allowing us to join their trip, and give Manuel and Polly a chance to enjoy the cage dive.

Saturday the 12th of October... Manuel's last day... too soon... unfortunately, he was not that lucky with sharks today, just two quick visits... but he saw one seal, two lampreys and a dozen dolphins to make up!

The dolphins were a real pleasure as they were jumping real close to the boat at some point...
