On the 1st of July 2002, the White Shark Trust welcomed three new Field Research Assistants: Christiane BROUWER (Alberta, Canada), Jamie GALDUN (Herndon, VA, USA) and Rima JABADO (Montreal, Quebec). Followed by Fiona WORTHY on the 15th of July.
On Saturday the 20th of July, we decided to take a day off to visit the Cape Peninsula...

After driving along the scenic coastal road past Hangklip from Gansbaai to Cape Town, we drove down the east coast of the Peninsula.

At Simon's Town, we stopped at Boulder's Beach to discover the Jackass Penguin colony established on these wonderful beaches.

We then continued South to the Cape of Good Hope National Park... one of the best places to see Baboons!

The Jackass Penguins are also called African Penguin... they were named Jackass after the noises they produce...

The weather was just perfect for this excursion... a real summer day in winter!

Sunday the 21st of July...

BEST DAY so far...

13 different White Sharks!

Absolutely wonderful weather!

Calm and flat sea!

After three days of seeing only a few sharks, we were all very happy and excited to observe so many sharks today...
