Karl-Niklaud HULT from Sweden has been with us since the 16th of May 2002.

On the 1st of July 2002, the White Shark Trust welcomed three new Field Research Assistants: Christiane BROUWER (Alberta, Canada), Jamie GALDUN (Herndon, VA, USA) and Rima JABADO (Montreal, Quebec).

Pippa HACKLAND (University of Cape Town) joined us also for three weeks to collect field data for her Honours Project at the University of Cape Town...

On the 7th of July, a light storm was approaching... we still managed to get to sea and observe six different White Sharks in three hours...

Rima and Jamie even got to try Sweedish Snus...

After a couple of days of bad weather (dearly earned few days of rest also after six consecutive days on the ocean), we got out to sea again on Thursday the 11th of July... We observed four sharks that day.
Niklas and Jenna decided to get their PADI Open Water Diver certification in June...

We took them both and their instructor, Juan, close to Danger Point for their last dive...

On the 12th of July, we again observed four sharks. We also welcomed Lelanie WEITZ on Lamnidae. Lelanie is conducting her Honours Project at the University of Pretoria on Activity Patterns of White Sharks.
Sadly, this will be the day before the last for Niklas as bad weather is on its way again soon...

Niklas observed over 170 White Sharks (not different sharks, but observed shark encounters) during his two month stay with the White Shark Trust...
