has been with us since the 1st of July 2002. Fiona WORTHY from Lydney (Gloucestershire, England) has been with us since the 16th of July 2002.
On the 1st of August 2002, the White Shark Trust welcomed one new Field Research Assistant:
Carla ATKINSON from Colne (Lancashire, England)
Rima Jabado who joined the program on the 1st of July 2002, left us also on the 1st of August...
The weather was still wonderful on the morning of the 1st of August... but just before noon, the wind picked up and reached gale force within half an hour... and we were forced to head back to shore.
On the 5th of August, the weather cleared up and we had a fantastic day... After waiting for an hour, we had a shark... we only had one shark today... but she stayed around for three and a half hours... all the pictures below are from that same day... she, the shark, was so relaxed and calm - It was just AMAZING!
Both Fiona (left picture) and Carla (above picture) got to handle the bait line today... the shark and sea conditions were perfect to get some good handling training... Jamie was supervising their work!
That Shark was also a very nice resighting - She has visited the area about ten times over the last three years!
Jamie, Carla and Fiona jumped over on "Stan", the boat of Shark Diving UnLimited, to do a cage dive... great visibility and amamzing shark!
The following images were taken by Fiona Worthy during her stay from the 16th of July through the 31st of August 2002...
